September 4, 2024, the Road Transportation Management Study Program of Politeknik Transportasi Darat (Poltrada) Bali conducted a Community Service (PkM) activity at the Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS), Malaysia. With the theme “Bali: An Island of Extraordinary Cultures That May Change the Transport System,” this activity aimed to provide education on the operational system of land transportation mode integration and the management strategies applied at TBS, one of the largest integrated transportation hubs in Malaysia.
During this event, participants were introduced to the operational management of TBS, which includes the integration of various land transportation modes such as intercity buses, trains, and taxi services. Additionally, participants learned about the management strategies that enable TBS to operate efficiently, focusing on passenger comfort and safety.
This added valuable insights into the transportation systems in Bali, particularly in tourist areas. Bali, as a tourist destination rich in local wisdom and culture, can inspire the design of sustainable transportation systems, especially in facing the challenges posed by the increasing number of tourists.
It is hoped that this experience will provide new insights and inspire future transportation projects and educational programs. This activity marks an important step in preparing the younger generation to face global transportation challenges and to create a better and more sustainable transportation system in the future.
